Situated in the centre of Roundstone village and over-looking the
most picturesque working harbour in the West of Ireland, O'Dowds has been serving both locals and visitors since 1840.
Originally known as "Kelly's Hotel" it became O'Dowds in 1906 and has retained that name ever since. For most of that time it was a combined grocery shop, Pub and Hotel only ever changing temporarily to a Funeral Parlour during the making of the movie "The Matchmaker" in 1996!! The grocery shop is gone - although you can still see the hooks in the ceiling- O'Dowds is now a
pub and a seafood restaurant in the finest old Irish tradition.
Wood panelled walls and open fires give it an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness. The present owners are always on hand offering gentle advice and service and O'Dowds is renowned for serving the best seafood in Ireland.
We also have a modern Furnished Self Catering Apartment with spectacular views over the harbour that would make an ideal spot to base yourself whislt on holiday.
